Little Convos

I thought I would share with you some precious moments from the minds of my girls. Some of them are funny, some of them are just sweet.
Between Sisters
Convo #1
Taylin, "Rayna, you are to little to be able to sit in the chair by yourself."
Rayna replies after a moment of silence, "God is growing me big."
Taylin in shock of the response, "What did you say, God is growing you big? Mom, did you hear Rayna?!"
Convo #2
While I was doing bills on the kitchen table and the girls were coloring, I was allowed to ease drop.
Taylin, "Rayna do you want to get married?"
Rayna, "Yeah."
Taylin, "I want to get married when I get bigger. It will be fun to get married. Don't you think it will be fun?
Rayna, "Yeah."
Taylin, "I'm going to wear a big pretty dress with sparkles and I will be beautiful. Are you going to wear a pretty dress?"
Rayna, "Yeah."
Taylin in a much quieter voice, "And do you know what else, I'm going to be a mommy when I get married, and I want to have a baby, too. Rayna, don't you want to have a baby?"
Rayna, "Yeah, I have a baby, too."
And then the conversation ends because I couldn't hold my laughter in anymore.
Little Minds
Convo #1
While putting the girls to bed, Taylin asked me the following questions.
Taylin, "Mom, are you going to go to sleep right after you leave my room?"
Mom, "Yeah, but I'll probably talk to Daddy first."
Taylin, "Are you going to snuggle him?"
Mom, "Maybe. Is that alright?"
Taylin, "But Mom, can you wait until later so that I can be there and then we can be a family."
Mom, "Taylin, we're always a family, even if we're not together."
Taylin, "Yeah, but if we're all together than we're a better family."
Convo #2
Taylin accidentally walked in on Daniel while getting out of the shower.
Taylin, "Dad, what is that thing that is in between your legs its kinda where your bum is but its in the front?"
Dad, "That is my privates."
Taylin, "No, Dad. What is it really?"
Dad, "That's my privates."
Taylin, "No, what is it really?"
Dad, "It's my pee pee."
Taylin, "No, its not, really what is it?"
Dad, "It's my privates, and you need to talk to your mom about this."

Creativity at it's Highest!

I just thought I would take the time to show you guys my sister-in-laws creativity! Sometimes I am amazed at her. These cute shirts the girls have on are one of her creations, along with the hair clips in their hair. She makes tons of cute things and I love it when we are the recipients of them! Way to go Zo!

Do you like my not-s0-cooperative models? I was thoroughly loving them at this point!

God is Good!

Last night was a night of celebration! Our family achieved two milestones that we have been working on for a while now. The first one, (the lesser of the two) on Sunday I officially finished all the hours I need at work to be able to renew my RN license next summer! Yeah! And the second one, Daniel finally landed his first BIG job! The contract is signed and all! Both of these things have been stresses to our family and now that we accomplished them we are hoping that life won't be so chaotic! We spent the evening going out to dinner with the family and then grabbing some ice cream! I am so exciting for Daniel. He has been working so hard these past few months to try to get his business going, and for the most part only seeing minimal return (which I'm learning that is construction), and now he's finally seeing the fruit of his labor! It's funny, there is not a proverbs 31 husband located in the Bible anywhere, but if there was one, Daniel would fit the description. I am blessed to truly have such a hard working husband who's loving, dedicated, loyal, honest, and giving. He is somebody that God has showed me (know several times) won't ever walk away when the going gets tough. He's there for the long haul! Congrats, Daniel! You deserve it!

"Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth." Proverbs 10:4

"He who works his land will have abundant food, but he who chases fantasies lacks judgement." Proverbs 12:11

"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." Proverbs 16:3

Where do balloons go?

Yesterday, after we picked up Taylin from preschool, we spent the rest of the afternoon running errands! (so exciting, huh?) I have become a mother of bribery when it comes to the grocery store, and I told the girls that if they were good the whole time, they could have a balloon before we left (FYI, Fry's gives out free balloons). The girls met their end of the bargain so, so did I. They both got to pick out their own balloon and the color of string that went on it! (If you don't know, that is so exciting for a 2y and a 4y) After each one of them got there balloon, I tied it to their wrist so that they would not loose it, explaining to them that they don't want it to fly away. Taylin then tells me, "yeah, if we let it go, then it will go to heaven and my brother Jaden will get to have it." I smile. I am amused at how often to she remembers her brother.

To let some of you in on the "behind the story" if you don't know already, every year on Jaden's birthday as a family we go and get a bunch of balloons and take them to his grave site and let them go. It's our way of sending him some balloons. So, apparently know, Taylin thinks that anytime you let a balloon go, it goes to heaven.

Back to our present story, once we had gotten in the car, the girls had figured out how to take the balloons off their wrists, and of course once we got home, Taylin managed to accidentally let the balloons slip out of her hand while playing with them in the front yard. Saddened that she had let them go, Taylin easily moved on. Rayna on the other hand was sad that her balloon was let go too. So she says,"Mom, why did Taylin let the balloons go to heaven." Another smile by me, because I never know how much Rayna always gets. Taylin answers Rayna, "Jaden can have them now. He'll like the pink and purple balloon." Rayna says, "Oh, and the yellow one, too." Taylin nods her head and says, "yep."

It's amazing to me the innocence of childhood. Things may be make believe for us, but they are so concrete for them. It also never ceases to amuse me on how a little mind works and is trying so desperately to figure things out. I think its a beautiful, precious gift from the Lord.

Hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa's!

The girls and I went down to Prescott Valley this weekend so that Daniel could have some time to work without us buggin him. The girls love being at Grandma's house! They seem to think there's so much more freedom there! We had fun swimming at the pool and BBQing at Lynx Lake. We were even lucky enough to see some skunks out at the lake. We were so lucky that we even got a close view of them, I think they really liked us! But fortunately they went about their business and didn't stay to long!

Play Date Gone Crazy!

We had planned a fun play date today for the kids, but our plans got changed the last minute. Five of us moms and our kids planned to go downtown to a city planned event with rides and bounce houses and have picnic at the park, but when we got there, we were sadden to find out that the city had put it in the paper on the wrong dates! They had put that the event was suppose to be on Friday and Saturday, but really it was suppose to say Saturday and Sunday. So, since there was so many of us there, we decided to go to another park and let the kids play and still have our picnic. The kids still had fun playing together and it ended up being a good day. It's funny, I think us mom's were more disappointed about the mistake than the kids! They really didn't know, they just wanted to play together! It's amazing sometimes how they handle things better than I do!

Gracie, Hannah, and Taylin

Sammy in Spider gear! Rayna swinging hard!
Taylin's gotten the hang of swinging!

Silly Gracie!
Courageous Hannah climbing up the slide
Playing in the store!
Isaiah's quite the climber, too!

Sneaky Rayna!

We have started to come across this sight quite frequently lately. Rayna has decided to sneak into sissy bed at night and at nap time! Her bed is much more comfortable and has better pillows I guess! Or maybe Taylin makes her feel safe? Either way, I think its kind of funny and cute. Taylin says she doesn't mind, I think Taylin likes it too, although I don't know how she sleeps with her! She is the biggest wiggle worm!

The Duck Pond

Rayna and I have started to make going to the duck pond part of our routine while Taylin is at Preschool. We go and usually bring a picnic and feed the ducks. She loves the ducks! She is so much more daring than Taylin. I can remember Taylin running from ducks at her age, and Rayna says, "Let me pet them," as she is chasing after them. Its a nice relaxing time that we have been able to spend together. The duck pond is becoming mommy's and Rayna's special place. By the way, I think I might be taking a leave of absence from blogging, it appears there is something wrong with my camera, as you can tell in the pictures below.

Park Day!

Today was another nice day that I got put on standby (call) from work. So, we spent the time with Grandma enjoying the park! My girls are getting so big! Especially Taylin. She rode her bike the whole way down to the park from our house and then she has mastered all the play equipment! I asked her if she needed help getting on the swing and she said, "No, mom. I can do it." And with that she pulled herself right on up. Its kind of a sad moment to know that you are not needed as much. But I guess that is what this parenting thing is about! We teach them, and then we let go. I don't know how good I'm going to be at this letting go stuff.

Out in the Country!

Taylin, Rayna, and Hunter (Rayna is almost a head taller than Hunter, and is a month younger! They both are on the opposite ends of the spectrum!)
Did you ever know that boys are so much more adventurous than little girls? Its amazing to watch the differences!

We spent the evening last night at some of our friends house that live out in the country. The girls always have a blast every time we go out there. There is so much room to just roam with no boundaries, and the opportunity to be so creative! They also get the opportunity to play with lots of boy toys, (our friends have two little boys), so it makes for a fun change! The wild sunflowers right now are going crazy in Flagstaff, they are everywhere, with fields just full of them. Here's a glimpse of them on our friends property.
