First Soccer Game!

Taylin had her first soccer game this past weekend, it was the Pink Fairies against the Bumble Bees! I think we won, but they don't really keep score at this level. Taylin is improving from last year, when her first instinct was to purposefully wait and run at the back of the pack and watch everyone else get the ball. This year she is actually trying to get in the group and get the ball! She even made a goal this game (although it was for the other team)!

First Smiles!

With all the time you give that goes into taking care of a newborn, you don't really get much back for it. From time spent nursing, burping, being spit up upon, changing diapers, getting peed on, holding, bouncing around, rocking, putting binkies back in, and singing to, your child usually gives blank stares and cries in return. Well, today the girls and I finally received our reward! He smiled! There is something amazing that happens to you when your baby smiles. It just melts your heart. That must be why when you finally get that smile, you spend the rest of day trying to get another one! It was a very sweet moment when the girls and I were singing "Beautiful Boy" to him, and he blessed us with his smile! We all got to see it and the girls were just as thrilled as I was. He must like that song, I do sing it to him often!

The girls are becoming quite good at being little mothers. Taylin was caught bouncing him to help him stop crying and Rayna wanted to sit by him and play while he was in the bouncer so that he wouldn't be alone. The only thing they really haven't figured out is how important it is to mommy to leave him alone when he is sleeping!

7 Weeks Old!

This our some pictures of Tobyn's first bath that he actually enjoyed and didn't scream the whole time! He's 7 weeks and I think about 7lbs now! We'll find out first next week at his two month appointment.

4th of July Weekend

This past weekend we went down to Prescott Valley at my parents house. There we met up with my parents and my sister's family. On the 4th we went to the parade, craft fair, BBQ'ed and watched the fireworks! Rayna was quite cute watching the fireworks. The first one she saw, she gasped her breath and softly muttered "wow". She did not remember them from last year, so it was very cute! On Sunday, we went to church and enjoyed a great sermon from my parents new pastor about inspiring us to not be quiet Christians. God needs all of us to bring his people to him and we can't just leave it up to our pastors. After lunch we headed to the pool and then we all enjoyed a great nap!

Can You Guess Who the Baby Is

As Tobyn has been getting bigger he keeps reminding me of someone. So, I decided to dig out the baby books and look. I found some interesting things. I wonder if you think there interesting too! It appears that there is some resemblances in our family. I'm curious if you can figure out who these four different babies are below. The answers could be Taylin, Rayna, Tobyn, and yes ME! I'll give you the answers soon!

Kaylee Visiting

This past week, my niece Kaylee spent several days visiting us. She was quite the help with the kids and they loved having her here! We were probably boring for her. Not quite as active as she's used to, but we did attempt to get out a little bit more while she was here.

Snuggle Time!

Rayna loves to snuugle her brother! These are a few moments I caught of Rayna snuggling Tobyn.

Father's Day!

Daniel's desire for Father's Day this year was to go out to one of our nearby lakes, Kaibab Lake, and have a picnic and go fishing, so that is what we did! I have to say Daniel had a little bit more of a frustrating time then he had planed. All was going well, we ate our yummy lunch, the girls were playing nicely in the mud and rocks with some new found friends, Daniel's poles were in the water, the dog was behaving well and not being a nuisance to others. So, I asked Daniel if he minded if Tobyn and I went for a hike around the lake. Daniel says sure, go for it. It ends up taking me about an hour. While I was gone, Daniel's peaceful bliss changed! It all started when Taylin told Daniel she had to go to the bathroom, #2! A little bummed out, knowing that the outhouse is too far away to just run her up there, Daniel reels in his poles, puts the dog on the leash, and tries to get Rayna to come along. Well, Rayna decides she is busy and does not want to be bothered with Taylin's need to go to the bathroom. Trying to persuade Rayna to come ends up turning into an all out fit and is topped off with her hitting Daniel. Embarrassed at the scene Rayna is causing, Daniel has to deal with disciplining her in public. Now that several minutes have passed, he returns to his efforts to get Taylin to the outhouse. After dragging Rayna and the dog along, he finds out his efforts are a little late. Once in the outhouse he realizes Taylin let a little of her poo poos slip. Sitting there wondering for a while, "what do I do now", he decides to remove the contaminates, and place her shorts back on without them. Upon leaving the outhouse he turns his attention to the dog and disciplines him for barking the whole time they were inside! Frustrated with the situation he tells the girls, "I can't believe you guys are doing this to me on Father's Day!" When I return from my very peaceful hike, I find Daniel sitting in a camp chair with his poles all packed up and he tells me he's ready to go! After Daniel tells me the run down of what happened he says, "I guess I had to be a father on Father's Day!"

Vacation Bible School

Taylin absolutely loved vacation bible school this year! She had a blast! She came home every night with new crafts, singing new songs, and trying to learn new bible verses. She was very sad to see it end. The last night was a parent night and they did a little production for us. Daniel and I got a kick out of watching Taylin do all the hand motions to the songs, she was just too cute! Taylin got a little lost in the crowd, but heres a few of the pics I came up with!

Swim Lessons!

We decided that this year was a must for Taylin to really learn how to swim and get over some of the fears she has, so the girls have been taking swim lessons! Before they started their lessons Taylin would not jump into the water to me or put her face into the water, she would only swim to me from about seven feet even though I knew she was fully capable of doing more. It amazes me what a complete stranger can accomplish with my kids over me. Their swim instructor now has Taylin swimming (dog paddling) all by herself all over the pool, jumping in all by herself, floating, and diving under water and retrieving toys, and starting to swim with her face in the water and pulling her arms out to swim (freestyle)! All after two weeks! Rayna is doing well too, but she did not have any fear issues to start with, she has always been my one I have to keep an eye because she has no fear and needs some (the instructor found that out on the first day of swim lessons)! Rayna is starting to learn to float all by herself and do a little bit of dog paddling, but she needs to get her muscles up first, but she was always the first one wanting to try anything!

Catch UP!

Okay, so its been forever since I posted! Can I say my excuse is that I'm still learning how to be a mom of three! I definitely have not got the hang of it yet. I can handle all the kids, but how do you balance doing everything else! When you add the chores, activities, errands, friends, commitments, husband, and nursing (with late night feedings) it becomes a little overwhelming for me still! So, here is my attempt to catch up!
